Human Security Dimension across the Frozen Conflicts in the Post-Soviet Space



An analysis of the serious problems arising from the so-called frozen conflicts in the post-soviet region forms the basis of this policy paper with particular reference to human security in South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistria. Despite many similarities among them, the entities are not entirely homogeneous and since the conflicts vary in severity and scope, an individualized approach is required in the provision of much needed human security in each.

Belarus: Situation In the Field of National Security and Defense as of June 2016



State mass media reported on successful trials on the territory of Belarus of a multiple launch rocket system “Polonez”; under the aegis of the CIS Antiterrorist Center the second phase of exercises “Cyber-Antiterror-2016” was hosted; during his visit to Minsk, Deputy Speaker of the Afghanistan Senate said about his country’s interest in repair of helicopters and other military equipment in Belarus; Ukraine’s military intelligence service reported that Russian reconnaissance aircraft used Belarusian airspace and airfields to conduct reconnaissance against the neighboring countries.

EU‘s Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy: Implications for Eastern European Security
